One client even told me:
‘Mike, it’s awesome what you all are doing but… I went to your site… I mean, peacocks and lions… Will I see bears and robot chickens too?!‘
Well, first off… you ALMOST had the chance to see a robot chicken on our site however unfortunately, it did not make the cut (maybe in a future rebrand…who knows)!
I get it, company mascots aren’t exactly the norm these days. But of all the digital solution companies you were considering or contacted you, which one popped into your head first? 😉.
This wasn’t just a wild idea thrown together. Over 10 years ago, I had a fever dream while brainstorming our brand and our message. Today, as we continue redefining that very message, we continue to embrace the philosophy that inspired it all.

The origins date back to a combination of influences: a spin on Gelett Burgess’ poem, the Williams College mascot, and Seth Godin’s marketing classic, The Purple Cow (A sales and marketing classic..before ‘Unicorns’, there were the infamous ‘Purple Cow’..).
Picture this: you and your family embark on a cross-country road trip across Canada, covering over 15 hours of breathtaking landscapes. You’ve seen mountains, rivers, and enough trees to make a lumberjack weep with joy. Then, somewhere along hour 8 of your journey (right about when you’re wondering if your back will ever forgive you), you see a field full of cows.
Exciting? Not really. But suddenly, in the middle of one of these fields, something unusual catches your eye.
A purple cow.
Gasps fill the car. Your caffeine-deprived driver slams on the brakes. Are we seeing things? Did someone slip something into our Timmys coffee? Nope… There it is—a single purple cow, just vibing among the regular cows. Everyone scrambles for their phones, because if it’s not on Instagram, did it even happen?
After a week-long journey filled with countless sights, conversations, and experiences, guess what’s still the highlight?
That dang purple cow.
At first, the purple cow is a marvel. But then, what happens when you start seeing more of them? The first one was a shock. The second? Cool, I guess. By the time you’ve passed your tenth purple cow, you’re muttering, ‘Ugh, another one?!’ like a tired parent at a kid’s birthday party.
